In childhood we are born of love and innocence. Our hearts are free and are spirits and essence move and dance in harmony with nature and life itself. We know no limits to our potential, talents and abilities. However, as we grow older we begin to face harsh realities of this world, mental programs, negative emotions, family patterns and traumas begin to sink into our psyche. Particularly as women, we begin to experience a disconnection from our inner wisdom and experience feelings of unworthiness, dependency and lose sight of our highest selves and purposes.

In this class we will be led through a dynamic journey of empowerment and purification to recover and remember our power, love and innocence. We will return to feeling our essence. Through a guided journey of sound and movement you will begin to become more conscious and heal from deep mental programs and emotions that keep you from living fully in your power.
We will create a safe environment and sacred space for all sisters to journey into greater awareness, love, innocence and power. Please come in comfortable clothing that you feel beautiful in. The doors will open a half hour before the journey begins for you to settle and share space.

Reena Desai bridges the world of personal and social transformation through feminine empowerment work. Connected to the ancient feminine traditions of India, she coaches women in how to open and live authentically in their feminine essence as the source of their greatest inner development, external success and service to society. Based in LA, she travels throughout the US and India coaching women and leading workshops.

Imagika is a sonic alchemist, blending potent ingredients such as exotic world fusion rhythms, invocational melodies and chants, and sound healing bliss and beats, for a sound uniquely her own . She has traveled the world for a decade, as a DJ and dance performer. Imagika has been a producer and collaborator of unique and cutting edge events, uniting music and performance with a spiritual base. The night will commence with a Sound & Vibrational Bath facilitated by members of Portal to Ascension featuring the Digeridoo, Crystal Bowls & Gongs.
Once the space has been set and cleansed we will transition into a series of DANCE, MUSICAL & POETICLY inspired performances including:
The Aztec Dancers (CUAUHTEMOC), Nigerian Dancing, Indian Dancing and Haitian Band Performance. Followed by an hour of African Drumming where we can all
let go and Dance, that will surely put you in a trance!

The rest of the evening there will be DJs and Spoken Word performances!

By attending this event you will be supporting our venture in creating a 5000sqft garden in East LA providing the opportunity for the community to reconnect with Gaia through gardening and providing healthy fruits and veggies! We are excited to announce the return of SHRINE to the playa for the first time since his work on the Temple in 2008: Basura Sagrada. Shrine’s alluring and dreamily nostalgic structures have been erected all over the world since then, and it’s going to be great to have him return with a MUTANT VEHICLE this year!

This very special project will be an exotic and sweet, reflective art car experience we hope you agree will be a most welcome addition to this year’s burn!

Due to an unusual long-distance design (and redesign) process, we have only just received our final approval to participate from Black Rock City Department of Mutant Vehicles. This puts us into a compressed timeframe to raise significant funds and get straight to work.

Our base vehicle is secured and we are beginning the process, but there is much we must do to be prepared for whatever comes our way. We must transport the vehicle safely to Nevada, maintain it and service the guests in a pretty unforgiving environment, with possibilities of dust storms, rain, and everything that makes Burning Man.

Rites of Passage indeed!

PODCHI is an integration of Yang Tai Chi Chu’an and Shaolin Qi Gong. The movement in breath, body, mind and spirit helps to promote relaxation, strength, stretch and balance.

A PODCHI workout can last between 60 to 90 minutes depending on the practitioner’s desire and ability. The Shaolin Qi Gong slows down the body and mind and prepares one to focus on the breath, inhaling and exhaling through the lower abdomen what the Chinese consider the “tantien”. This place cultivates the “Chi” which is an internal source of heat and energy warming up the body to allow for deep stretching. When moving your body in sync with your breath the Chi begins to flow throughout every cell improving blood circulation, body aches from tension, arthritis conditions and other discomforts the body and mind are experiencing.

The stretching precedes the actual doing of Tai Chi Chu’an Forms. It is important that the body is flexible enough to perform the slow and methodical flow of the movements. Getting oxygen into the blood and blood into the muscles and joints relaxes the body thus enhancing the experience. This also helps focus the mind and the sharpen memory imbedding the movements into the body’s core enabling the practitioner to easily learn the forms.

The Tai Chi Ch’an forms or movements come from the Yang Family of Old China and have been practiced by eastern countries for centuries. It has now spread to millions of people across the globe. The classic Yang style forms are the “Long Form” commonly known by the number of movements within the form, The 108. From the 108 came the “Short Form” known as the 24. Other classic forms taught are the 42 and 48.

Advanced training includes building one’s endurance, core strength and coordination through working primarily with one’s own body having some use of elastic bands and light weights. Weapons training includes: Yang and Shaolin styles of swords, fans, staff and cane.

Who is POD?
Arpad Kaali aka – POD is a shortened nickname from his Hungarian orgin that he creatively considers himself a Person Of Divninty. BE-ing PODS – People of Divine Spirit is what translates this effort of improving a person’s health of mind, body and Spirit. Pod has been a practitioner of these arts since 1996 when he first began training with the gym custodian of his graduate school; Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. When he returned to Los Angeles he met is current teacher and mentor Sifu Codee Colbert who bestowed the knowledge of Tai Chi Ch’uan. In 2005 Pod was fortunate to learn traditional Northern Shaolin Kung Fu, Tai Chi and Qi Gong from Abbot Shi Yan Fan who founded the Los Angeles Shaolin Temple in Sherman Oaks, California.Pod has been teaching since 2007 working with students from the Glendale YMCA and facilitating workshops at various music and art festivals across the country.
